A collection of songs recorded for the 2013 RPM Challenge.

The Story:

Abram and Richard convened for 3 recording sessions in February with no pre-written music prepared (save for Tower Trance, originally written in the 1980's as theme music for a locally produced televised quiz show).

Hunkering down in Abram's rehearsal space in Allston, MA, the duo tracked several 30-60 minute improvisations. These were then edited down to more manageable song-like fragments and manipulated by Abram (playing the role of "producer").

The resulting album showcases Abram and Richard's interests in ambient music, free improvisation, nature, sonic textures and experimentation. Most of all, Caixa represents the enduring love and mutual respect felt by a father and son.
